Until a few years ago, Sandra made her home in Providence, RI. She graduated in 1993, from Rhode Island College with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting and printmaking.  Now, she crossed the country and planted her roots in the Pacifica , CA.  In the downtime from making a living, she's made time for her fine art.  Her subjects in the past have been portraits and figure paintings but wanted to do a series of still life's.

"I wanted to work small scale and my toy collection proved to be great subjects.  Unlike real models, they sat still and worked for free."

The end result are more like portraits than still life.  They are very serious paintings on not so serious subject matter.

For mentioning my Toy series in their "Chic Decor" blog
....I present the oil paintings and prints of Sandy Mac. Her current series portrays one of the ultimate in retro toys, pez dispensers.
Not only did I have a collection of pez dispensers when I was younger, one of my Aunts did as well!
So, Mac's current series of paintings has a certain nostalgic appeal.

Also as a living and for pleasure, I'm a decorative painter.
